Properties: acrid, bitter & warm herb that enters the kidney channel.
She Chuang Zi is found in both our yellow and white yoni washes for its ability to dry dampness, kill parasites and stop itching. It is specifically useful in stopping vaginal itch that is accompanied with abnormal discharge.
In both yellow (heat) and white (cold) imbalances within the yoni, you will often see itching and abnormal vaginal discharge which in Traditional Chinese Medicine considered dampness.
When the yoni’s discharge changes from the usual cervical mucus, this is the body’s way of letting you know that there is a disharmony. In general terms, this means the pH of the yoni is off and can lead to the potential of bacterial overgrowth and common infections such as yeast infections and bacterial vaginosis.
She Chuang Zi is an herb that has research behind it to support its wide range of benefits.
The main active constituent of She Chuang Zi is coumarins. A review published in 2015 states “In vitro and in vivo studies suggest coumarin compounds possess a wide range of pharmacological properties for the treatment of female genitals, male impotence, frigidity, skin-related diseases, and exhibit strong antipruritic, anti-allergic, antidermatophytic, antibacterial, antifungal, anti-osteoporotic effects.” (Yi et al, 2005)
These effects are partially helpful within yoni care because of the microbiome and pH balancing of the yoni. The natural pH of the yoni is more acidic, ranging from 3.8-4.5. When bacteria or fungus grow this means that the microbiome has become less acidic. When this happens symptoms start to present, some of which may be itching, thicker, cottage cheese like discharge, foul odor and color changes such as grey or green. These are all signs from your yoni that an imbalance is present. She Chuang Zi helps to combat the overgrowth and assist the yoni in findings its normal pH balance.
This herb is the star of both our yoni wash formulas because of its powerful healing abilities.
