A Dui Yao herb pair you must learn, found in our Meno-Wash ™

Must learn Dui Yao found in Meno-Wash™

Tian Ma Dong (Radix Asparagi – Asparagus Root) and Mai Men Dong (Radix Ophiopogonis) are two Chinese medicinal herbs that are classified in the category tonify yin. Individually they have actions of moistening dryness and clearing deficient heat symptoms such as: low-grade fever in the afternoon, constipation, dry cough with hemoptysis, and irritability.

These two herbs work synergistically in a Chinese medicine formulation. Combined together they accentuate their therapeutic effects of moistening dryness by generating fluids due to deficiency of yin.

This strategic combination is found in our Meno-Wash™ formulation to mitigate symptoms at any three stages of Menopause. Since the properties of these herbs tend to be cooling to cold and slightly bitter, they can clear deficient heat symptoms, and because these two accentuate the therapeutic effects of moistening dryness, therefore their therapeutic effects can be used topically to help moisten vaginal dryness, used to help reduce inflammation/redness that may be accompanied with a hot burning sensation. Mai Men Dong’s major active ingredient is Maidong saponin C (131) isolated from the tuber of Liriope muscari, that has demonstrated strong anti-inflammatory and immunopharmacological activities (Baker, 2021). Using them both together help generate fluids, nourishes yin, clears deficient heat, and moistens dryness.

Tian Men Dong & Mai Men Dong can be found in a commonly prescribed formula called Tian Wang Bu Xin Dan (Emperor of Heaven’s Special Pill to Tonify the Heart) used for Menopause Syndrome. This internal formula along with our topical Meno-Wash™ formulation can be used to help mitigate some of the following symptoms found during any of the three stages of Menopause: night sweats, hot flashes, low grade fever or fever in the afternoon, irritability, wasting & thirsting syndrome, low back & knee pain, feeling of weakness behind the knees, anxiety, palpitations, insomnia, vaginal dryness, itching, redness of the vagina that may be accompanied with hot or burning sensation, and excess leakage of vaginal fluids.
